Military honours civilian employers and educators
OTTAWA – John Craig Eaton, National Chair of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council, and the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant-General Walter Natynczyk, presented awards to 17 Canadian employers and educational institutions. The award for Support to Canadian Forces Operations - Domestic: was won by VanOostrum Farm Equipment. The council encourages civilian employers to grant time off without penalty to reservists to allow them to keep up with their military activities. Thanks to Gary Maddison.

** OUR HISTORY **
J.G. VanOostrum Farm Equipment Ltd. opened its doors in July 1974. Jos VanOostrum had worked at the previous IH dealer as a mechanic and then shop foreman. The business grew rapidly and in 1978 became incorporated. In 1984, the dealership was chosen to represent the newly merged Case IH. Now our dealership is one of the largest in the province. In 1998, a large expansion occured to our parts and service departments. As well a new computer system was purchased, including Case's Advanced Business Communications (ABC). This system has been a great investment, and has helped us become a Certified Dealer for Case IH. As of October 27, 2000, the business is now owned by Patrick VanOostrum, and has 20 dedicated employees to serve you. In 2002 we expended again. Another 40x50 service shop, another fully equipped service truck, an increase in parts inventory, and a new modern 50' x 50' parts showroom.
